The checkout in your phone
Take cards with a tap on your iPhone, ring up products from your catalogue, scan barcodes, send claims to online banking and close the day. No terminal to rent, nothing to plug in.
Basic is free. The POS plan is 3.900 kr. per month per location, with as many phones and iPads as you need.

From the first tile to the tap, in under a minute
A sale rung up from the catalogue, paid with a tap on the iPhone, receipt sent by SMS.
The app
What the checkout looks like
Screens from the Kling app as it runs today. Icelandic and English, phone and iPad, the same account everywhere.

iPad: the catalogue on one side, the sale on the other. The customer taps on a paired iPhone.

Four ways to get paid
Every sale, paid the way the customer wants
Ring up the sale once. The app offers the payment methods your business has switched on, and the receipt is the same whichever one the customer picks.

We set up the acquiring agreement with Straumur for you. The money goes straight from the acquirer to your bank account; Kling never holds it.
Compared with a rented terminal
The phone in your pocket does more than the box on the counter
A rented terminal takes a card. The Kling POS takes the card, knows what was sold, who sold it and what the day added up to.
| Rented terminal | Kling POS | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly rent per device | Yes, per terminal | None |
| Binding period | Usually 12 to 36 months | None, cancel any time |
| Extra till at busy times | Another rented device | Any phone on the account |
| Products and pages | ||
| Claims in online banking and cash | ||
| Daily close with VAT split | On paper from the device | In the app and the dashboard |
| Receipts by SMS or email | ||
| Works with your online sales | Same products, same reports |
Who it is for
Three counters, one app
The same checkout fits a café with a printer at the counter, a stall that is only open on Saturdays, and a club selling waffles at the match.

Questions
Before you try it
Which phones can take a tap?
Tap to Pay on iPhone works on iPhone XS and newer running a current version of iOS. Android support is in development; until then an Android phone can use the QR code, SMS links, claims and cash.
Do I need a terminal or a card reader?
No. The iPhone is the reader. There is nothing to buy, rent, charge or pair, and nothing to return when you cancel.
Do I need an agreement with a card acquirer?
Yes, and we arrange it for you with Straumur as part of signing up. The acquirer pays the card sales straight into your bank account; Kling never holds the money.
Can I use an iPad?
Yes. The app has a two-column layout for iPad with the catalogue on one side and the sale on the other. An iPad cannot read cards, so you pair an iPhone with it and the customer taps on the phone.
Can a customer pay with a claim in online banking?
Yes. Pick "Claim" as the payment method, enter the customer's ID number, and the claim appears in their online banking. You see it paid in the same list as the card sales.
How do refunds work?
Open the payment in the app and refund all of it or part of it. The money goes back to the card that paid. A locked staff device cannot refund; that is reserved for the merchant's own login.
Which receipt printers work?
Receipt printers on your Wi-Fi network that speak the common ESC/POS language, such as Epson TM-m30 and Star mC-Print, and any AirPrint printer. Every sale also has a receipt link to send by SMS or email, so a printer is optional.
What counts as a location?
A place of business with its own daily close, such as a shop, a café or a stall. All the phones and iPads used there are covered by one POS plan.
