# Online bank claims (kröfur)

Send online bank claims (kröfur) in Iceland with Kling. The claim appears in the customer's online bank and they pay it like any other bill, with no card needed. From the dashboard, at checkout, or through the API.

An online bank claim (krafa, plural kröfur) is a bill that appears in the customer's online bank in Iceland. They pay it like any other bill, without a card. Claims suit invoices between companies, memberships, course fees and customers who prefer to pay through their bank. They are in Icelandic krónur only.

## Without code

Open **Rukkun í heimabanka** in the dashboard, enter the customer's kennitala, the amount and the due date, and send. The claim appears in the customer's online bank, and **Claims** in the dashboard shows when it has been paid.

## At checkout

Let the customer choose to pay by claim in a [checkout session](https://kling.is/en/docs/checkout) by setting `"payment_method_type": "bank_claim"`. The customer enters their kennitala at checkout instead of a card, and the session completes with `payment_status: "awaiting_claim"`. When the customer pays in their bank, the payment becomes `captured` and the `payment_intent.captured` [webhook](https://kling.is/en/docs/webhooks) fires. Ship the order then, not before.

For subscriptions, `"collection_method": "bank_claim"` sends a claim each period instead of charging a card. See [Subscriptions](https://kling.is/en/docs/subscriptions).

## With the API

`POST /v1/claims`:

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.kling.is/v1/claims \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $KLING_SECRET_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "payor_kennitala": "0101302989",
    "amount": 15000,
    "due_date": 1767225600,
    "final_due_date": 1768435200
  }'
```

- `payor_kennitala`: the payer's 10-digit kennitala, no hyphen.
- `amount`: whole krónur.
- `due_date` and `final_due_date`: Unix timestamps.
- Optional: `customer`, `items` (lines shown on the bill; their total must equal `amount`) and `discount_amount`.

A claim's `status` is `pending`, `unpaid`, `paid`, `partially_paid`, `cancelled` or `secondary_collection`. List claims with `GET /v1/claims` (filter by `status`, paginate with `limit` and `offset`), read one with `GET /v1/claims/{id}` and cancel with `POST /v1/claims/{id}/cancel`. The `claim.created` and `claim.paid` webhooks tell your server what happened.

## Setting it up

Claims don't go through a card acquirer. You sign the claims agreement as part of the go-live application, so claims can be switched on before card payments. Once the application is approved, the dashboard walks you through two last steps: setting up bank claims and adding a payment card for Kling's per-claim fee. See [Test mode to going live](https://kling.is/en/docs/going-live).

## Pricing

0,8% per paid claim, at least 25 kr. and at most 250 kr., plus the bank's own cost. See [pricing](https://kling.is/en/pricing).
